A deeply personal tribute preserves the raw emotion of the artist’s performance

SAYRE, PA — September 25, 2026 — Multidisciplinary artist Elvira Kalnik will release “Dad,” a tribute to her late father, on October 9, 2026. The single honors the man who introduced her to music, taught her to play guitar, and gave her the confidence to find her own way through life.
Elvira remembers a father who sang her lullabies, read her fairy tales, and made time for her even when life was busy. His love of books helped shape her curiosity, while his steady presence made family and friends feel safe. After his death, the music they had shared became painful for her to return to.
“Music had always been our shared language, and it felt too painful to hear without him,” she says. Although the song came to her soon after his passing, it took six months before she could enter the studio to record it.
That grief remains audible in the finished track. Elvira chose to keep the sighs, caught breaths, and imperfections from her performance rather than smooth them away. “To polish and smooth out this song would be to strip away its very soul—the raw, living emotion that gives it life,” she says.
“Dad” brings a personal story to an artistic career spanning music, fashion, performance, and visual storytelling. Elvira Kalnik’s work includes “Star Dance,” presented during Miami Swim Week, as well as appearances connected to New York and Los Angeles Fashion Weeks. Her song “Dreams Come True” received recognition at a UN Humanitarian Gala, while “Water Knows” received Grammy consideration.
For Elvira Kalnik, this release is also a way to keep close the person who first placed music in her life. “My dad is alive in every note, he is alive in my heart, and he will forever be my guiding light,” she says.
“Dad” arrives October 9TH. Listeners can presave the single and watch the lyric video now.
