“I’m not sure what to say about this song,” Ross admits. “I don’t always like talking about what I write. This is one of those cases. I’ve really thought hard about how to explain it.”

“Maybe it’s best if you just say, ‘Sometimes there aren’t any happy endings,’ and leave it at that. If not… I guess you could say the song is a reflection of a moment of doubt and depression. We all go through those at one point or another. Sometimes it’s something deeper… self-destruction, self-loathing, doubt, and the overall belief that everything we’ve worked for has resulted in failure. Often, our biggest enemy is ourselves. God and those in our life can try to help, but in the end, no one can save us from ourselves.”
