From Award-Winning Journalist to Chart-Topping Americana Artist: Featured Artist Don Wall Joins Whiskey and Cigarettes October 25th

Nashville Singer-Songwriter and Former ABC News Producer Discusses His Acclaimed Album Love, Texas, His Remarkable Career Reinvention, and the Stories Behind His Music

Internationally syndicated country radio program Whiskey and Cigarettes is pleased to announce the premiere of an exclusive interview with Featured Artist Don Wall on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Hosted by award-winning broadcaster Nik Bernitz Pizzigoni, the interview will debut on Military Brotherhood Radio before airing across the show’s syndication network of more than 50 stations worldwide.

A Nashville-based singer-songwriter with an extraordinary story, Wall has traveled a remarkable road from award-winning broadcast journalist to nationally charting Americana recording artist. His 2025 album, Love, Texas, captures four decades of experiences in the Lone Star State through a vibrant blend of traditional country, Western swing, Americana, bluegrass, and Texas roots music. The album climbed to #147 on the national Americana chart, reached #2 on the Roots Music Report Americana Country Albums chart, and earned year-end rankings of #17 on the Americana Country Albums chart and #22 on the Country Albums chart. Three songs—“Cornbread,” “Fishin’ on the Guff,” and “Marie”—simultaneously reached the Top 10 of the Roots Music Report Americana Country singles chart.

Born in Massachusetts, Wall spent 40 years in Texas before relocating to Nashville in 2022. His musical journey began as a drummer inspired by The Beatles, but his professional path led him into a distinguished four-decade journalism career. As a producer for ABC News and an on-air reporter and Fort Worth Bureau Chief for WFAA-TV in Dallas, Wall earned two national Emmy nominations, a national Edward R. Murrow Award, a regional Emmy, and numerous other journalism honors. He began playing guitar at age 40 and eventually found a new creative calling in songwriting, crafting what he affectionately describes as “Stories with a Beat.”

During his Whiskey and Cigarettes interview, Wall will discuss his transition from journalism to music, the inspiration behind Love, Texas, his chart success, working with celebrated Nashville musicians, and his passion for connecting with audiences through songs rooted in real-life experiences.
