SiriusXM Radio Personality and Acclaimed Singer-Songwriter Discusses His Return to the Road Following His Cancer Battle
Internationally syndicated country radio program Whiskey and Cigarettes is pleased to announce the premiere of an exclusive interview with acclaimed singer-songwriter, SiriusXM radio personality and Country Music Hall of Fame honoree Dallas Wayne. The interview will premiere Sunday, October 11, 2026, on Military Brotherhood Radio before airing across the show’s syndication network of more than 50 stations worldwide.
Hosted by award-winning broadcaster Nik Bernitz Pizzigoni, the conversation comes at an especially meaningful moment in Wayne’s remarkable career. After spending a year and a half battling multiple myeloma cancer, Wayne is now in remission and returning to the road for a series of intimate performances throughout Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and beyond. Among the upcoming stops is Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Cafe, a venue ideally suited to the personal connection Wayne has always valued between songwriter and audience.
With a career spanning 50 years, Wayne has performed throughout North America and Europe and released 13 albums of his own, while also contributing to projects with Heybale, The TwangBangers and the Grammy-nominated bluegrass group Special Consensus. His most recent album, Coldwater, Tennessee, was produced by Buddy Cannon and features original material, collaborations with longtime writing partner Robbie Fulks, and “He Even Brought Her Flowers,” co-written with Cannon and Country Music Hall of Famer Bill Anderson.

Beyond his work as a recording and touring artist, Wayne is one of country radio’s most recognizable personalities, heard regularly on SiriusXM’s Willie’s Roadhouse and Outlaw Country. He was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015, and in 2026, he added another milestone when he was inducted into the North America Country Music Associations International Hall of Fame and received its Living Legend Award. Now based in Bristol, Tennessee—the “Birthplace of Country Music”—Wayne continues to embody the traditions of the music he has spent his life performing, writing and championing.
During his exclusive Whiskey and Cigarettes interview, Dallas Wayne will join Nik Bernitz Pizzigoni to discuss his return to performing after his cancer battle, the special connection he finds in intimate listening rooms, his five decades in country music, his work on SiriusXM, the stories and songwriting behind Coldwater, Tennessee, and what it means to be back onstage doing what he loves.
