Exclusive Interview: A Night with Lukas Bay

Meet the incredibly talented Lukas Bay! Lukas is a seasoned producer, songwriter, mixing engineer, and multi-instrumentalist who has lent his skills to the music industry for over 15 years as a ghost writer. His passion and creativity have been ignited by a myriad of artists such as Avicii, Chainsmoskers, Daftpunk, The Weeknd, and many others.

On November 10th, 2023, Lukas decided to step out of the shadows and share his own sound with the world. He released his debut album, ‘Lost and Found’. The press has had a lot to say about Lukas and his music, praising him for his ability to fuse dance and pop into a sound that is reminiscent of the clever retro-futuristic vibrancy of Daft Punk.

What makes Lukas stand out even more is the undeniable human touch he adds to EDM. This not only gives his music a soulful quality, but also makes it irresistibly infectious. Drawing inspiration from Avicii, Lukas brings a certain dexterity to his music, with a warmth that feels uniquely inviting.

Despite the complexity of blending these elements, Lukas makes it seem effortless. He creates music with a sense of pure passion and joy, perfectly showcased in his serotonin-inducing track, “Lost and Found”. His debut album has already made waves, reaching over 80k streams in more than 70 countries in just two months!

You’ve spent 15 years as a “Ghost Writer” for other artists. How did you become a Ghost Writer? How many songs and artists do you think you’ve written for in the past 15 years?

I started to play in a band when I was 17 and then I started also to co-write for my band as well friend’s band, and from there not many I would tell, around 20-30 different projects but in this 15 years I spent also lot of time writing soundtracks as well helping writing music for theater, pretty different things)

You released your debut album in November. How has the response been, so far? Tell us about the style and songs on the album

The response was way better then I expected for a first release! Really encouraging to work for more! Each song in the album has a bit of different mood and 5 different singers are involved in the album.

Tell us about your new single, “A Night in LA.” What can fans expect from it?

A night in LA is an electronic immersion in the city of LA and in a way a reminder to relentlessly follow our dream.

You cite artists like Avicii and Daftpunk among your influences. If you could work with any of your influences, who would it be, and why?

I would basically love to cooperate with every single one of them, there is so much to learn and to share. I wish I could have worked with Avicii, but really I would be so excited to work with every single artist I mentioned.

What’s next for you? Any plans for live performances?

I am working on 2 different singles apart from A night in LA, about the live performance actually I could imagine something in the future featuring as well other artists.
