Katie Pederson Shows “Limitless” Talent On New Album

International award winning songwriter Katie Pederson is a pop-piano songstress with Michigan roots. Having toured the country with her lyrical and vulnerable songwriting on display, she has shared the stage with artists such as Mason Jennings, Matt Giraud, and Will Dailey. Gaining inspiration from pop piano icons, Katie’s newest project “Limitless,” is sure to capture the hearts of fans of Carol King, The Chicks, and Elton John.

The first track off of the record, “Guard Down,” was named as one of the top 10 Nashville pop releases of 2021 by Music Mecca, and Gravity, a later track on the record was named as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. The lyrics of the album weave stories that take us through the mountains of Western Canada, all the way through the forests and plains of the Northwest United States, resolving finally home, at the shores of Lake Michigan where she connected with producer Jake Rye of Social Recording Company to record the new album, Limitless. It was released on earth day, April 22, 2022.

Pederson’s vocal chops are on full display during the chorus of “Guard Down,” with some flawless arpeggios. The sassy delivery and confidence shown throughout the track more than show why this song was such a hit with previous critics. Katie has a gift for melody, and also the ability to make it soar beyond the basics. Check out “Guard Down” and the rest of her “Limitless” album for a peak into the future of piano pop.
