Whiskey and Cigarettes Country Radio Show is happy to announce the return of Canadian country singer and Dirt Road Angels, Dahlia Wakefield. Ms. Wakefield joined award-winning host, Nik Bernitz Pizzigoni, to talk about her work with DRA and her new single, “Poison.”

Since graduating with Distinction from the Grant MacEwan Music program where she majored in Vocal Performance, Dahlia Wakefield has been a beginner piano and vocal instructor, specializing in all genres. She is also a full time musician as a member of five bands (country rock band “Dirt Road Angels”; pop, rock & country cover band “Dahlia & The Villains”; Heart Tribute band “Brigade”; “The Dahlia & Alan Duo”; and 80s cover metal band “Shocker”), performing lead vocals and acoustic guitar. She also loves singing solo at retirement homes. Dahlia has been a finalist in several international songwriting competitions with her original songs and has released three solo albums and several singles:
“Let’s Talk About Love”, “All The Way To Heaven”, and “Unsatisfied”. However, more recently, Dahlia has also released “You Don’t Get To Win” in 2020, “Visiting Hours” in 2021 and her Alice Cooper heavy metal remake of “Poison” in February 2022.
Dahlia has also released three albums with the Dirt Road Angels, a country rock band she has been performing with for the past seven years. DRA have been nominated as ACMA Group and Fans Choice of the Year for the past six years in a row, and they have had the opportunity to open for well-known Canadian and U.S. country acts including Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, Aaron Tippin, Brett Kissell, Chad Brownlee, The Road Hammers, Kira Isabella, High Valley, Aaron Pritchett and more. The group has released several videos and nine singles to Canadian country radio, with “Extra Dirty” hitting #1 on the Euro Chart. Their latest single is “Where is the Love”.
