Latin Grammy Winner Dale Edward Chung Readies New Classic Soul Single It’s Over Set For Release on April 13th, 2022

Dale Edward Chung, Singer, Actor, Musician, Performer has worked with numerous groups over his long and storied career, and now releases his new solo single titled “It’s Over,” releasing worldwide on April 13th, 2022. It features catchy hooks and grooves with a familiar, yet unique modern pop and retro-soul
sound that is Dale’s signature.

“It’s Over” features Rod Stewart/Lady Gaga Saxophonist Katja Rieckermann, Grammy winning Trumpeter Steffen Kuehn, Hamilton the Musical Drummer John Mader, Sarah McLachlan/Carly Rae Jepson Guitarist Joe Cruz, Zigaboo Modeliste Bassist Ted “Blyss” Gould, and produced by Dale Edward Chung along with Robert Eibach.

The single will be released on Starita Records.

“It’s Over” represents multiple interpretations. The song on its surface is about a relationship break up and rising above. It’s also about Dale embracing his diversity as an AAPI Soul/Pop music artist (Asian American Pacific Islander). Dale Edward Chung formerly known as D. Edward knows the importance of representation in popular culture and is planting his intentions with his first single from his upcoming EP release, Introducing Dale Edward Chung.

This single marks his first release as a solo artist in seven years.

He has been quite busy working with other artists, acting, filmmaking and working as the percussionist for the house band the legendary Whisky A Go Go for their Ultimate Jam Night shows.

He was a member of the legendary R&B Funk group Con Funk Shun touring the world, playing sold out stadiums and arenas for 13 years.

Originally from Oakland now based in Los Angeles, Dale Edward Chung began his musical journey growing up in an eclectic musical household, influenced by what his parents and older brothers were listening to on the radio and on records. These influences included classic soul, pop, country, jazz and Latin music. Dale Edward Chung began his professional musical journey in the San Francisco Acid Jazz scene in the 1990s working in South of Market venues almost every night of the week. The Acid Jazz scene was a mixture of live music and DJs and Dale worked with such notable DJs as Julius Papp, J-Jay, and DJ EFX.

His previous solo CD under his former D. Edward moniker “Love Is” gained radio airplay around the USA. The music video for his song “Love Is” was selected to premiere on the Magic Johnson’s Aspire TV Network and the music video for his song “Show Me” (featuring Jenna Lavoie) was selected by MTV to be featured on their online platforms.

Dale Edward Chung is also a board member of the David Z Foundation that raises money for music education for students in need around the country as well as serving on the Advocacy Committee of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy.
