We caught up with Almiighty Renzo, and he was gracious enough to answer some questions for us, in this EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW!

How did you come up with the name “Almiighty Renzo?”

Well, my middle name is Lorenzo. That’s where the Renzo comes from. I picked the Almiighty part because I often feel unstoppable. I put two i’s in it because I’m the second and it’s two i’s at the end of my legal name.

You live in Decatur, GA. How is the music community there, and how has being from that area influenced your music?

Man, being from the Eastside is such a huge blessing. It’s so many talented people out here that consistently keep me motivated and inspired. It’s every type of rap and r&b you can think of out here.

Who are some of the artists you grew up listening to, and who are you into these days?

I grew up on a lot of classic rap Dungeon Family, Nas, 2pac, Wu-Tang, Tribe Called Quest, etc. I also grew up during that backpack/blog era rap that saw the rise of rappers like Drake, Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, etc. Right now I’m listening to a wide variety of music. Definitely a very heavy Curren$y rotation, he’s helped me further develop my hustle a lot.

Tell us about the new album. What can fans and listeners expect? What was the recording process like?

Fans can expect something new for sure with this album. It’s new relative to my last discography but also relative the current sound landscape. The album details a very human experience. I go through a lot of ups and downs and a range of emotions. The recording process was honestly spiritual to say the least.

What’s next for you in 2022? Any live performances planned? Any new projects or releases planned?

In 2022, we’re taking the whole operation to a new level. Definitely live performances planned. I’ve already started to process of recording new releases so that’s definitely on the way as well.

What do you like to do when you’re not doing music? Any outside interests?

I like to work, drink, smoke, play with dogs, and hit the booty club.

Good luck with the new record!!
