Natasya Fila Rais, an upcoming singer-songwriter from Jakarta, Indonesia, recently released her new single titled ICATLYA. ICATLYA is a pop song, heavily infused with acoustic guitar and soulful electronic guitar riff. This single was produced since March 2021 with Music Producer, Cosmicburp. Natasya also handled the creative process of ICATLYA, in which she wrote and composed the song. ICATLYA was written in 2019, but it was only two years later that the song came to life. Since the production was held throughout pandemic, the brainstorming process of the song was done fully online, which was a new and more efficient experience.
ICATLYA tells a story about someone who is in a codependent relationship. Although the person that they love feels like home, the main character of the song has to let go their loved one because the relationship has turned codependent and their love begins to take an unhealthy route. They also feel as though it is better for them to lose the person that they care about instead of losing themselves. The storytelling process of this song is through a first-person point of view, therefore there are touches on the song which makes it easier for listeners to relate to the story and the song itself.
The lyric composition in ICATLYA shows phases where the main character starts to gather their power to love themselves and tries to get back up again by leaving their person and the codependent relationship behind. There are significant differences in the song, in which the song starts off in with a vulnerable approach where the main character does not want to lose their person, but as it gets to the end, they choose to not losing themselves and let go of their person. Natasya refers to the Five Stages of Grief theory by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross in each lyric, where the song ascends through phases, such as denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. The song is a conversation between the main character with their loved one, where at first, they show the feeling of not wanting to lose the person, but as time goes, they would rather to let go and choose themselves. The song gives out a message that no matter how big the feelings we have towards someone, if the relationship is not healthy anymore, it is better to have self-respect and start loving ourselves by making the best decision for our well-being. The song is a motivation that even though it feels wrong to leave, it is better to choose ourselves than to lose ourselves in a relationship.

Natasya Fila Rais is an Indonesian singer, rapper and songwriter based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She has taken a leap of faith to the entertainment industry at the age of 5 by starring on shows aired on national television channels. Natasya has found her love for fiction and poetry since childhood, in which she later professionally released her first novel in 2017. The books that Natasya has released are novels titled Ephemerae (2017), Acabella (2017) and a poetry anthology titled 7 Lives Ago (2020). She explores various themes on her writings, such as adolescence, Cosmology, divination, femininity and love. Vocal in advocating women’s rights, the Law Graduate has published articles on the topic and has been invited as a speaker in international conferences.
Natasya’s musical style draws on several genres, such as Electronic, Pop, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop and Rap. As an avid storyteller, she conveys tales based on real-life experiences, empowerment, positivity, her roots and Divine Feminine embodiment. Her debut collaboration with DJ Stroo, This Feeling, launched the beginning of her music career. Natasya is currently active in uploading her song covers regularly on her YouTube channel. Finally found her life purpose, Natasya has not stopped resuscitating ever since.
