We caught up with Elle, who answered a few questions in this exclusive interview…

Hi Elle! Thanks for taking the time. You were born in New York, but now live in Muncie, IN. How and why did you make the move from New York to Indiana? How does one city differ from the other, and how are the music audiences in both cities? Have both cities influenced your music, and how?

Hello! Thank you for the opportunity. I was born in New York. I moved to Indiana five years ago. The cities here differ in so many ways. The culture difference between New york and Indiana I would compare to the difference between an apple and an orange. One difference that stands out in my mind I found strangers calling me honey, baby or babe. Which is not custom in New York. I’ve adapted well though and I came to Indiana to live close to family.

How did you get into Dub step music? Who are some of the artists you look up to in the genre?

I got into Dub step by the push of my producer Ind1go. At first, I was a bit iffy. Then when I heard where the music was going I was completely enthralled. I’ve pretty much listened to every genre my entire life and thought it was time to try something new. I enjoy change, it helps me grow as an individual in general. A group I like in this genre is Knife Party they have some good music.

Tell us about your latest album, “Blood Bond.” What can fans expect from it?

Blood Bond is about mostly about sex and love. It’s what makes the world go round. Right? The lyrics I wrote on these songs are much grittier and open with who I am as a person. I’ve felt a lot of growth from where life has taken me since say my album Behold The Fairy tales. I was in a time in my life then where I couldn’t be completely myself. Today, I can be myself. Blood Bond is pretty much my freedom to be just that and that is what fans can expect.

Which do you like better, being a writer/author, or a musician? Or do you find them to be intertwined?

I enjoy being a musician first and foremost. It goes through my veins. Whether I find myself singing to one person or to a thousand my love for performing will never change.

What are some songs that your fans might find surprising, that you have on your personal playlists?

In the past I was never that big on Country music. A surprise might be Tonight Looks Good On You by Jason Aldean. That song never gets old. Indiana has made me a Country music fan. I also think our world is becoming more open and accepting to getting rid of the idea of a cookie cutter mold. Things aren’t just one way. It’s ok nowadays to be different.

Any parting words for your fans?

My fans that have stuck with, thank you! I hear you reaching out and I see you. Sometimes its you who gets me thru a bad day and a good day too.

Thanks Elle and good luck in the rest of 2021 and beyond!
