Michelle Mondesir “Crazy World”

Michelle Mondesir has always had a passion for music. She is not only a singer,song-writerpianist and producer but also the CEO of her company Poetic Groove Productions. Her variety in musical outlets is reflective of her many influences, including R&B, jazz, soul, rock and world music. 

Her accomplishments over the past  years is quite impressive. 2008 proved to be a big year for Michelle as she was nominated for best Urban artist at the TIMA’s, was awarded best R&B soul female artist as well as best R&B song for her track “Don’t Stop” at the T.E.M.A’s. In 2009, Michelle performed at Toronto’s Indie Week, was nominated for two awards at the 2009 T.E.M.A’s, winning forToronto’s Best Up and Coming Producer. In 2010, Michelle was nominated again in the best Urban category at the TIMA’s.

Michelle released two solo R&B albums ,“Ready4UrLuv” and later “The Light” which were both produced and mixed by Michelle herself.

In March 2013, Michelle was invited to perform at Canadian Music Fest as part of one of the festivals rare Live Urban Music events put on by the Nikki Clarke Show. At this event she performed along side fellow Canadian artists Ray RobinsonKim Davis and Honey Hayee, as well as Atlanta recording artist Elite Noel.

More recently, Michelle became the lead singer and lyricist for Toronto’s Alt-Rock band Madame Psychosis. They released their self-titled debut album in 2017 with positive reviews by the likes of Alan Cross and Dan Burke, as well as being featured on Toronto’s 94.9 The Rock’s Generation Next radio show.

Madame Psychosis has released three singles off their recently released their sophomore album “Survivor” . A Journal of Musical Things calls the lead single, “Just Wanna Be Myself”, “a fun, upbeat song with sweet yet edgy female vocals”. They followed with “Crashing Down”, which was called “mellifluous magic wrapped in a grungy garage rock exterior” by Odd Nugget. Most recently, “Kapow” drew the attention and acclaim of several writers and playlist curators from around the world. Buzz Music calls it a “heart-dropping anthem”. Lefuturewave refers to it as “a brilliant piece of music”. And about the album, RX Music says, “The band sounds better than ever, with memorable hooks that reward repeat listens, and an elevated chemistry fans will appreciate”.

Though working with Madame Psychosis, Michelle has never lost her passion for R&B/Soul music and continues to write new material. As part of a solo initiative, Michelle started a new music release campaign that she dubbed “Music Mondays“. During this campaign, Michelle released a new single every Monday with the first release in February 2019 and the final release at the end of June 2019, culminating in a healthy 15 songs released in the first half of 2019. 

Michelle released “Give Me All Your Lovin’” on Nov 1st, which BuzzMusic refers to as “a few minutes of musical bliss and delicacy” and EARMILK says that “(Michelle) has a natural talent for crafting soul-gripping musical arrangements”. Most recently, Michelle released “Sunday Sun” on Dec 9th, which BuzzMusic calls “a song of hope and love” and says “the vocal performance is absolutely flawless.” Furthermore Reignland says, “The song consists of soulful vocals over a hip hop undertone and beautiful harmonies that add fire to the already outstanding song.”

“Crazy World” is the anthem for the lost and hurt, the strong and beautiful, the sick and tired. It is a voice for the frustrated people who have to navigate this crazy world.
