Esco Andretti’s career is rising as fast as his sir name would indicate. Like a speeding stock car rounding the first turn, Andretti is taking the lead amongst the crowded field. He’s about to release his new single, “Gotta Make It” on May 8th, and he sat down for an exclusive interview with us…
Congrats on the new single release! Tell us about “Gotta Make It.” What was the recording process? What was the inspiration behind the song?
Gotta make it is my new single off of my upcoming ep “Remission “. I wrote the song in the hospital while my son was under going his chemo treatment so when it came time to record I already had the song down pack so it was just the action of doing it . My son was the inspiration behind this whole ep but more importantly this song was also inspired by me recognizing that I’m only getting older and rap music rn is ran by the youth
How did you get into music? Was there any one person that influenced you to go for it?
I was always rapping or trying to rap or trying to make beats early on my aunt recorded me on her boom box and it was like love at first sight after that I played with my uncles equipment and just kept it up but there are people who remind me to chase and keep going everyday shouts out to them !
Have you done much live performing? Do you plan on it, in the future?
I performed twice in highschool like 8 years ago lol but recently my last two shows were in 2017 and I haven’t preformed since
Tell us about where you’re from, and how that has influenced your music? Is it a plus or a minus being from your town?
I am from Hempstead Long Island , parkside to be exact . Shit is small everybody know everyone, everyone wants to get out or just better they situation .My city is a big influence u hear my music and the things I rap about either they happen to me or someone in my city . I would have to say it’s a minus cause Long Island period gets over looked and a lot of celebrities or whatever that are from here get famous and say they from queens or Brooklyn,
What’s next for Esco? Where do you see your career going in the next year?
We’ll go check out Gotta Make it and see me out now on all major platforms they will be on the remission ep coming out June 5th. And I will be dropping a new track that’s not on the ep on May 8th , setting up some visuals both photo and video and other then that I’m just setting up the label and working on more music right now
BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite food, and what is your favorite movie?
lol uhm… I’m a ny guy so always Ny style pizza ! And fav movie is definitely “He Got Game” or “Paid In Full.”
