Award-winning country music collective See Your Shadow is kicking off the weekend in electrifying fashion with its new single, “Weekend (Can’t Get Here Soon Enough),” arriving October 30, 2026. Led by songwriter and music director Michael Coleman, the track transforms a longtime See Your Shadow favorite into a foot-stomping, crowd-pleasing country-rock anthem celebrating hardworking people and their well-earned freedom.
The release follows the success of “Another Saturday,” which reached #1 on the Independent Music Network’s Country Songs Chart, adding another impressive achievement to the collective’s history of chart-topping independent hits.
With its infectious chorus, driving arrangement, and unmistakable working-class attitude, “Weekend (Can’t Get Here Soon Enough)” captures the universal anticipation of leaving the workweek behind. From its opening lines, “Same Friday routine / Wishing it was five o’clock instead of three,” the song speaks directly to anyone who has ever watched the clock crawl toward quitting time.
The song isn’t entirely new to longtime fans. An earlier pop version appeared on See Your Shadow’s album A New Era, but Coleman always believed the composition deserved another opportunity to shine. The transformation goes beyond genre. Known primarily as a studio-based collective, See Your Shadow wanted to deliver something that captured the raw excitement of a live performance.
“I wanted to give our fans a taste of what a live show with us would sound like,” Coleman explains. “So I came up with the idea of doing a studio song that sounds like and has the energy of a live performance.”
