Bonnie Milne Announces September 25 Release of “Glimpses” Featuring Dave Hewitt

The Canadian classical composer and pianist captures treasured memories, lasting connections, and the longing for moments that pass too quickly

ORILLA, ON September 14, 2026 – Canadian classical composer, recording artist, and pianist Bonnie Milne will release her evocative new single, “Glimpses,” featuring percussionist Dave Hewitt. The single is available to pre-save now at https://tunelink.to/BonnieMilne_Glimpses.  Award-winning record label, MTS Records, will release “Glimpses” on September 25, 2026

“Glimpses” reflects upon the beautiful moments shared with family members and genuine friends, as well as the longing for experiences that once seemed as though they might last forever. Beginning at a slower, contemplative tempo, the composition invites listeners into a tender space filled with memory, gratitude, and quiet yearning.

As the piece unfolds, its movement between major and minor chords creates an emotional push and pull, capturing the way cherished memories can bring both comfort and sadness. That reflective opening eventually gives way to an allegro section, where a stronger rhythmic drive carries the music forward with renewed urgency and energy.

“‘Glimpses’ is about those meaningful moments we share with the people closest to us—the ones we wish we could hold onto forever,” explains Milne. “The music moves between warmth and longing, reflecting both the joy of those memories and the realization that time continues to move forward.”

The single was recorded at Villa Sound in Collingwood, Ontario, with studio owner and recording engineer Adam Fair. The recording brings together an accomplished group of musicians whose performances add color, warmth, and emotional depth to Milne’s composition.

Sought-after cellist Kevin Fox returns to collaborate with Milne, contributing soulful accompaniment and expressive countermelodies. His cello performance provides a rich emotional foundation throughout the piece.

GRAMMY and JUNO Award-winning violinist Drew Jurecka joins Milne for the first time, lending a violin melody that feels both playful and yearning. His performance brings an additional emotional voice to the composition, balancing its feelings of celebration and wistfulness.

Returning percussionist Dave Hewitt created the timpani-like drum line that gives “Glimpses” its rhythmic identity. His performance adds warmth to the slower passages before becoming a driving force during the faster allegro section. More information about Hewitt can be found on Instagram.
