Whiskey and Cigarettes Show Premieres Exclusive Interview with Karen Waldrup

The internationally syndicated Whiskey and Cigarettes Show will premiere an exclusive interview with acclaimed Country Soul artist Karen Waldrup on Sunday, May 10th. During the broadcast, Waldrup will discuss her inspiring journey, her deeply personal new single “Keeping The Faith,” and the life experiences that shaped the powerful new release.

Listeners can tune in live via Military Brotherhood Radio (mbradio.us), with the show syndicated to more than 40 stations worldwide. The episode will also be available for on-demand streaming via Apple Music, SoundCloud, and at www.whiskeyandcigarettesshow.com.

Releasing on May 8th, “Keeping The Faith” reflects Waldrup’s heartfelt message of hope and perseverance following major personal and professional challenges, including divorce, struggles within the music industry, and rebuilding her life from the ground up. The song captures her unwavering optimism and spiritual resilience, delivering an emotional anthem for anyone navigating difficult seasons while holding onto hope for brighter days ahead.

That spirit of compassion and faith has also extended into Waldrup’s personal life. While navigating a season of change, she often prayed that if there was a creature in need of help, God would place it in her path. During a trip to Puerto Rico for a wedding, a stray dog appeared at her home and refused to leave. Neighbors cared for the dog and searched for its owners, but when no one came forward, Waldrup knew she had found her answer. She is now in the process of adopting the dog—appropriately named “Puerto Rico”—and has become increasingly vocal about fostering and adopting rescue animals in need.

An internationally recognized artist, Waldrup has built a passionate global following with more than one million fans online and over 500 million video views. She gained national acclaim as a Top 5 finalist on Season 25 of the The Voice and has been featured by outlets including Billboard, Rolling Stone, PEOPLE, Netflix, and Hallmark Channel. A BMI songwriter and member of the Recording Academy, CMA, and Mission of Hope: Haiti, Waldrup has earned twelve Nashville Industry Music Awards and was named a 2023 Top 5 Artist to Watch by Country Evolution.

Her debut album Justified, produced by renowned producer Garth Fundis, charted on four Billboard charts and included the critically acclaimed single “Sometimes He Does.” Since then, Waldrup has continued to blend classic country roots with Louisiana soul, releasing seven studio albums and more than 50 songs worldwide. Her recent releases include “Louisiana Hurricane,” “Fix It,” and “Blue Cowboy Boots,” while her 2022 album Kendall County Road featured collaborations with Grammy-winning producers Paul Worley and Biff Watson.

During her appearance on Whiskey and Cigarettes, Waldrup will share the stories behind “Keeping The Faith,” discuss her musical evolution, and reflect on the experiences that continue to shape both her artistry and her mission of encouraging others through music.
