“Whiskey and Cigarettes Show” Welcomes Featured Artist Don Wall

The internationally acclaimed Whiskey and Cigarettes Show, hosted by the award-winning Nik Pizzigoni, will welcome singer-songwriter, journalist, and storyteller Don Wall as its Featured Artist on Sunday, December 7th. Wall appears in support of his new Nashville-recorded LP, Love, Texas—a sweeping musical postcard honoring the Lone Star State where he lived, worked, raised a family, and discovered his songwriting voice.

The episode will air live on Military Brotherhood Radio (https://mbradio.us/) and will be syndicated worldwide across more than 40 stations, with on-demand availability via Apple Music, SoundCloud, and www.whiskeyandcigarettesshow.com.

For over a decade, Whiskey and Cigarettes has been one of the most trusted and globally respected platforms for country music discovery, welcoming guests ranging from genre giants Charley Pride, Hank Williams Jr., The Oak Ridge Boys, Steve Wariner, Travis Tritt, Luke Bryan, and Lorrie Morgan, to today’s most compelling Americana and independent voices. Don Wall’s appearance continues that tradition—offering listeners a deep, narrative-rich journey into an album shaped by real places, real memories, and the unmistakable spirit of Texas.

About Don Wall’s Love, Texas

Love, Texas is a roots-painted autobiography set to fiddle, steel guitar, and the rhythmic heartbeat of Texas two-step. The album reflects Wall’s 40 transformative years in Texas after moving from Massachusetts to work in the news business, eventually becoming a producer with ABC News and later the Fort Worth Bureau Chief at WFAA-TV. His songs draw on a lifetime of landscapes, stories, and people—from West Texas sunsets and Fourth of July picnics with Willie Nelson to hurricanes on the Gulf Coast and quiet nights fishing with friends.

Across the LP, Wall explores the musical dialects of Texas with reverence and wit: Western swing, Cajun-kissed accordion lines, dancehall shuffles, folk blues, and Celtic-tinged Americana shaped by the Scots-Irish traditions that once traveled through the Appalachian hills and into the heart of Texas. The record also features standout performances from a world-class roster of musicians including Ross Holmes (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Doyle Grisham (Coral Reefer Band), Jeff Taylor (The Time Jumpers), and multi-instrumentalist/producer Bryan Cumming, alongside guest vocalist Carly Zimmerman.

Every song—whether the Gulf-coast breeze of Fishin’ on the Guff, the Western-swing snap of Me and You, the tender two-step Hold Me Close, or the nostalgic road ode Waylon and Me—feels like a chapter from a lived life, “stories with a beat” crafted for dancing, reminiscing, and remembering the places that shape us.
