ABOUT TRACE NIXON: Trace Nixon is a country traditionalist singer-songwriter from central Virginia whose music carries forward the timeless spirit of steel guitars, three-part harmonies, and honest storytelling. Raised by professional musicians Nick and Michelle Nixon, Trace grew up immersed in the honky-tonk scene, learning early that country music is about truth, not trends. Influenced by icons like Alan Jackson, George Strait, Ronnie Milsap, and Keith Whitley, he developed a sound rooted in classic country while also excelling as a student-athlete, playing baseball at Shenandoah University. After college, Trace committed to music, performing extensively across Virginia before forming his band, Gone Country, in 2023. His debut single, “This One’s For Alan,” was released independently in 2024, followed by his first EP, Hand Me Down Name, in 2025—a heartfelt collection that showcases his devotion to preserving the genre’s traditions.
