ABOUT SAMMY SADLER: Sammy Sadler is a country music artist whose career is defined by resilience, talent, and a story unlike any other in Nashville. He first rose to prominence in 1989 with a charting cover of Aaron Neville’s “Tell It Like It Is,” followed by the successful single “You Made It Easy.” Just as his debut album was set to launch, Sadler was critically injured in the infamous shooting that killed Cash Box chart director Kevin Hughes—an event later known as the “Murder on Music Row.” After nearly a decade away, he made a strong comeback with Hard On a Heart (2004), scoring Top 10 success in Texas and topping charts in Europe. He followed with Heart Shaped Like Texas (2009) and continued to tour with artists like Doug Stone, Ken Mellons, and Jeff Carson on the “Taking the Country Back Tour.”

Over the years, he’s scored four Top 15 hits on the Texas Music Chart and was named Male Vocalist of the Year in Dallas-Fort Worth in 1993. Sadler remains a respected voice in country music. He revisited his story in the 2019 memoir A Hit With A Bullet, and released the acclaimed album 1989 in 2021, featuring T. Graham Brown, Marty Raybon, and Larry Stewart of Restless Heart and The Frontmen. Now, as he prepares to release his latest single, “If I Had A Cheatin’ Heart,” on July 18, Sammy Sadler continues to show that his music—and his story—are far from finished.
