You never release live versions of songs that aren’t yet out in the world as a studio recording. It’s just something you don’t do, or so everyone says. CAN’T STOP TALKING and their label, Avondale Records both believe in challenging the norm, and breaking the mould.
Recorded at one of the most important cultural spaces for emerging artists in London, Live at The George Tavern captures CAN’T STOP TALKING at their most electric. The George has hosted the likes of Nick Cave, John Cooper Clarke, The Last Dinner Party and King Krule, and now this four-song EP of eclectic sounds – born from a sold-out show on one of the hottest summer days of the year – bottles the sweaty, eruptive atmosphere that had the whole room dancing.
The tracks are to be unleashed on the world in 2026 on a studio release, but based on crowd reaction and the buzz on social media when live snippets have been shared, the music is just too good not to share.
Drummer Luca explains the intention; “We wanted to be bold, to do something that isn’t being done – sharing the live experience globally with our fans. If you can’t get from Oostende to the East End, why should you miss out?”. It’s the band’s first release with their new bassist Hannah, who also provides backing vocals that further enhance the band’s sound – they’ve been itching to share Hannah’s skills with the world, another reason to do this now.
So, is this just a preview of some forthcoming tracks, should you just wait for the ‘real thing’? Easy Tiger… not at all, it’s a moment captured in time, a snapshot of the energy in the room, of the way the band feed off the crowd, and the crowd feed off the band. A cannibalistic orgy of exquisite sounds.
