DAYTON, OH – July 21, 2025 — With poetic grit and a gambler’s heart, Midnight Sky returns with their latest single, “Hearts Are Wild,” the first single from their upcoming LP, Just Before Dawn. Penned by frontman and songwriter Tim Tye, the track will be available on all major streaming platforms via MTS Records on July 25th, 2025.
“Hearts Are Wild” is a road-weary love letter that blends heartfelt lyricism with rootsy Americana textures, showcasing the evocative storytelling and raw musicianship that have become Midnight Sky’s trademark. Against a backdrop of rumbling 18-wheelers and neon casino lights, the song paints a vivid portrait of a long-distance love affair tested by miles, memory, and risk.
“This song is about passion that doesn’t play by the rules,” says Tye. “Love, like poker, is about knowing when to hold on and when to go all in. And when it comes to a woman like this one… I went all in.”
Lyrically sharp and emotionally resonant, “Hearts Are Wild” finds its protagonist caught between geography and gravity—east and west, longing and loyalty. With references to “a deuce and a queen” and “hitting a hard 17,” Tye captures both the exhilaration and vulnerability that come with betting it all on love.
The single, which recently hit #26 on the UK iTunes Country Songs chart, serves as track eight on Just Before Dawn, Midnight Sky’s upcoming full-length LP, slated for release on August 8th, 2025. The album promises a rich journey through heartbreak, resilience, and revelation, delivered through a mix of atmospheric ballads, uptempo country rockers, and intimate acoustic numbers. The track list includes highlights such as “Only the Moon is Blue,” “Dark Stretch of Road,” and the fan-favorite “A Few Good Years (Remix),” which earned songwriter Tim Tye a recent HIMA Awards nomination for Lyrics/Lyricist of the Year.
