Metal Guitar Virtuoso, Xander Demos And XDB Announce New Band Name, Raxus Prime

metalchurch2cropRenowned metal guitar virtuoso, Xander Demos (Sabbath Judas Sabbath, James Rivera, Solo) and his band, XDB have announced a new band name, Raxus Prime. The new name comes from a heavily metal-covered planet in the “Star Wars” expanded universe. This name change comes on the heels of Xander’s announcement of two new album projects due later this year: one album featuring members of Xander’s solo band and guest musicians; and one album by the newly monikered, Raxus Prime.

“For some time, there have been some misconceptions about the name, XDB,” said Xander Demos.  “While it started out as my band, it was clear that the members were more than just members of the “Xander Demos Band.”  So, we changed to XDB, but everyone still assumed it was Xander Demos’ Band, no matter how we tried to say it didn’t stand for that.  So, we wanted a new name, that would convey that this is, in fact, a band situation, with all equal parts, equal members.  We’re all a bunch of “Star Wars” geeks, so being that Raxus Prime is a metal-covered planet, it seemed the perfect name to go with.”

Raxus Prime is: Xander Demos (guitars, vocals), Mario Brescia (lead vocals), Jeff Morris (keys, vocals), Jeff Anzelone (drums), and Dan Bozym (bass).  The band has performed (as XDB) at festival events Skull Fest, Rock Harvest II, Wolf Fest and have opened for Stryper, Metal Church, Adrenaline Mob, Symphony X, Dio Disciples, and many others. They can be heard on the latest single release, “Dancing Through Daggers,” (Shark Nest/MTS) which will appear on volume 2 of Versailles Records‘ Guitar Wizards compilation, due out next month.
