Overall Album Vibe: I first learned about Xander Demos when I received his 5-track EP – ‘Road to Guitarcadia’ in late 2011. That EP gave a taste of what would lay ahead when he released the full-length (10-track) version entitled, ‘Guitarcadia.’ The new album was mixed and mastered by CJ Snare (Firehouse). If you love hearing the guitar played by a virtuoso that can bring its sound to life then you need to hear Pittsburgh, PA.’s Xander Demos. While you’ll find some tracks with vocals and more melodic tones, along with the occasional progressive rock keyboard filled song the vast majority of the music is crank it up, pedal to the metal, instrumental hard rock/ metal music. You’ll also find covers of the Don Henley song, “The Boys of Summer” and Chris de Burgh’s, “Lady in Red” on the album. I also liked the fact that the songs aren’t cut short for radio play their left to frolic in the musical goodness to a natural ending point. The best example of that is the 8-minutes long track, “Under a Darkened Sky.” –C.W. Ross
