Weekly Recap And This Week’s Upcoming MTS Artist Appearances 5/5/12

The first week of May is behind us, and if it’s any indication…this month is going to ROCK! So, let’s not waste any time getting into our look back at the week that was, and we’ll look ahead to what’s coming up for our talented artists here at MTS Management Group.

Doug Briney kicked off the week with the announcement of a series of live appearances at the Cowboy Coffee Shack in Anchorage, AK.  Doug will be entertaining customers outside the local hotspot on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday’s, weather permitting.  It’s a great way for Doug to promote his music and entertain the folks of Anchorage, too.  So far, the response has been incredible.  A feature article and exclusive interview with Doug was posted on music blog, Sara’s Soundcheck.  The insightful questions from Sara Finchman gave readers an in-depth look at the Alaskan Cowboy.  You can read the interview at www.sarassoundcheck.com.  “More Than Just a Farm,” Doug’s debut single, enjoyed another excellent week.  It was added to the latest Western Heart Promotions radio compilation, which is distributed to 1000 radio stations worldwide.  This week, Doug’s track was among the top downloaded singles on digital delivery site, Airplay Direct, which distributes the WHP compilation.  Doug also continued his climb on the CMG  Radio Network Charts, climbing to #3 on the country singles chart, while placing at #25 on their International Artists Chart.  Meanwhile, “More Than Just a Farm” was reported by 167 Euro/Australian radio stations, making it one of the top tracks being handled by Triplestrand Promotions.  Friday evening saw Doug back at Lone Star Steakhouse in Anchorage, performing before a captivated crowd.  It also saw the posting a brand new CD review for Doug’s “It’s All Country” album.  Music News Nashville gave the album a ringing endorsement.  Read the review HERE.  What’s on the horizon for Doug next week?  More radio, more promotion, live performances at the Cowboy Coffee Shack and Lone Star.  Stay tuned as we watch Doug’s star continue to rise.

Xander Demos continued to “shred” the competition:  First, he was mentioned in a Rocktopia interview with former Ten/Tygers of Pan Tang Keyboardist, Ged Rylands.  Xander is featured on Ged’s new CD, which is about to be released, and Ged mentioned him during the extensive look at the new record.   Read the interview HERE.  The Pittsburgh City Paper featured Xander’s single, “White Knuckle Driving” as their FREE Mp3 Monday track of the week, and it is available through Sunday HERE.  The Hair Metal Mansion is playing new music from Xander on their new show, debuting tonight at 7pm ET on Boost Radio, and speaking of HMM, they are still running the Guitarcadia Signed CD Giveaway contest.  Enter to win at this LINK.  International radio continues to embrace “WKD,” as it was added to new stations in Ireland and Portugal, thanks to Cameron Tilbury Publicity.  The interview that Xander taped with Rockstars Glued will be airing tonight at www.rockstarsglued.com at 6pm ET, and finally, it’s Xander’s birthday weekend, and to celebrate, he’s offering tickets to his May 12th show with Adrenaline Mob in Pittsburgh for only $15–that’s $3 off the face value.  You can get yours at www.steelcityguitar.com, while they last.  Coming up next week:  Xander will be interviewed on the Heavy Metal Happy Hour with the Fishman on Wednesday, for airing later in the week.  We’ll keep you posted on the times.  Next Saturday will see Xander and his band opening up for Adrenaline Mob at Altar Bar in Pittsburgh.  What an incredible night of music it will be…

Bryan Cole continued to climb the New Music Weekly chart last week, with “Love Doesn’t Live Here” moving up one spot to #27.  The Euro/Australian stations are also loving the track, with more than 150 stations reporting it.  Please keep your requests going to radio for Bryan’s track.

Here at MTS, we love to discover new artists.  We posted a review for a brand new band from Pittsburgh, A Lovely Crisis.  Watch out for this “Anti-boy band.”  Check out the review HERE. We’re expecting big things from them, and you never know, they may just become the next MTS Management Group signing…stay tuned for more news next week!
